I am Dominic Alvarez, Fleet Manager for Agave Environmental. I started my career in 2008 working as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator performing reclamation work for the Tyrone mine. In 2012, I took a new job working for Empire Cat as a diesel mechanic. As a mechanic I learned all about caterpillar machines — diesel, electrical, air, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, and their components. I provided service, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair for malfunctions and/or failures of key systems and components. I also evaluated the root cause failures using electronic tools, failure analysis, and schematics. In 2016, I went from a mechanic to a service planner. In this position I planned repair jobs through various areas, vendors, and technicians. I also ensured continued job progress and coordinated resources to support the repair process and deliver an invoice on the same day that the job was complete. I later worked as a rental coordinator, I assisted in the purchase of new equipment, processed rental requests, maintained inventory records of machines, generated, and distributed all customer rental charges, and handled customer billing complaints. Knowing the machinery was crucial in this position. I knew our machines well since I worked as a mechanic in the shop, so it came easy for me to assist clients in determining which equipment was best suited for their job. In 2019 I later accepted a new position RTM “Rental territory manager”. I covered the west side of Arizona managing several clients and assisting them with all rental/sale needs. I enjoy being around friends and family, sports, the outdoors and living life to the fullest.
